National Geographic Kids

Once on this website, use the search bar to begin your search. Use the keywords thunderstorms and tornado to find basic information about these storms. Thunderstorms provides more links than thunderstorm, and tornado provides more links than tornadoes, so stick with thunderstorms and tornado as your search terms in order to find the most information. Read through the articles to find the information that you need. 

Weather Wiz Kids

On the homepage of Weather Wiz Kids, you can set the location to Piedmont, Alabama, to see the current weather in our town. Weather headlines are also included on the homepage. Check them out to find the latest weather happenings. Clicking on Kids' Zone at the top of the page will allow you to see weather jokes, weather folklore, and games that are all a lot of fun. Check them out during your free time! To find information about a particular weather event scroll down to the bottom of the website, and click on the weather event that you want to learn more about. You can also find this information by clicking on weather at the top of the website and clicking on your weather event from the list.

Exploring Weather

Across the top of Exploring Weather, you will find different types of weather events, including thunderstorms and tornadoes. Click on the type of weather event that you want to learn more about. Once you click on a weather event, you will find basic information, an explanation for how the weather event occurs, important terms related to the weather event, and ways to stay safe during the weather event.
