Links to databases within the Alabama Virtual Library will allow students to discover more information about thunderstorms and tornadoes. Students will also be guided to different websites that contain facts about these storms and ways to stay safe during a thunderstorm or tornado. Additionally, students will be guided to use the school library's online catalog, available through Atriuum, to look up resources available on thunderstorms and tornadoes within the school library. . Please note, resources provided within this pathfinder are limited to the resources available within Piedmont Elementary School and the Piedmont Elementary School Library Media Center, in order to make sure that students are able to utilize all of the resources provided.
Students in second grade will be the main audience for this pathfinder, but students in other grades could benefit from the resources available in this pathfinder as well. While directly created to provide assistance with learning more about thunderstorms and tornadoes, the databases and websites available in this pathfinder can also be used to find information on other weather events. The link to the library's online catalog also provides students with the opportunity to look up any book, on any subject, that they would like.
